• Principles of safe firearm ownership and storage

• Awareness and avoidance strategies

• Legal considerations related to self-defense

• Psychological and emotional aspects of personal protection

• Developing a personal safety plan for the home

• Classroom instruction

• May include a live-fire component depending on the training provider and student eligibility

• Basic firearm safety knowledge is recommended

• Students must meet all local, state, and range requirements
